Buying tickets for Kuala Lumpur at Lavender
It's 3pm and everyone of us has finished class for the week. We are all leaving for Lavender MRT station knowing that we can purchase bus tickets for Kuala Lumpur there but not knowing how much it will cost us and above all not knowing if there will be any tickets left.
Lavender MRT station is on the East-West line, about 30min away from Kent Ridge campus. Once there you have two choices to purchase the tickets: go to Golden Mile Complex or go on to a bus park on Lavender Street. We didn't know at all where these places were and we spend 1hour going to walk from a place to another.
We first came to Golden Mile Complex. You have to take the ICA exit, cross the river and walk straigh ahead for 5-10min. The problem was that bus tickets prices in this place were starting at S$ 37 for Singapore-Kuala Lumpur one-way.
So we came back to Lavender MRT station, we took the other exit (the one with Mr Bean shop), walked until Lavender street (5min, 300m) and finally we found the bus park. There are only bungalows where you can purchase bus tickets. It's cheaper: S$ 25 but it's still much higher than the normal price if you purchase the tickets days before leaving not hours like us. The lowest price you can find is around S$ 30 for a return ticket.
Finally we bought the S$25 tickets, we'll leave at 10pm and we hope that we'll find a ticket in Kuala Lumpur to come back on Sunday.
