881: Papaya sisters.
Last Thursday, we went to Singapura Plaza to watch a very local movie before going to Marina Bay to see the National Day fireworks. 8$ to get in, quite cheap compared to France (16$ in Lyon with a Student discount) without knowing what we were about to see (except that it was a Singlish movie). An hour and half later the first impression I had was that it was quite entertaining and really funny. It's was entertaining to see what a local movie looks like and it was really funny to discover Chinese sense of humor. The second impression was to discover Singapore Government's censorship: no scene of sex, no drugs, a lot of "follow the rules and you'll be happy": such as respect the traditions, don't fell in love with a man, a singing competition between local singers: Papaya Sisters and the bad-western look-singers. Hopefully the trailer will give you a correct description of the movie.
