Chatuchak Market Bangkok

Chatuchak Market is the biggest and oldest market in Bangkok. It's definitely a place you have to see if you have some time to spend in Bangkok. It's a huge open market in the north of the city. The most common way to access it is to use the skytrain because the skytrain station is actually stopping at the market entrance. Once there you we'll have troubles to find your way, where am I going? what is it in that way? You'll hesitate a bit and then do like most people here just walk randomly in it and stopping each time you're... [Lire la suite]

Visiting Bangkok: Grand palace, Wat Pho

After getting up at 5am to see the sunrise in Bangkok on the top of the Frazer Palace I finally managed to get everybody ready to visit some temples in Bangkok. It was 11am...We took a cab and went to Grand Palace fisrt. From our place it was quite far so we took the highway (the taxidriver will ask you to pay the fees) and finally arrived. Be careful with the taxidrivers because they will always try to screw you by suggesting you to go there by boat because it's faster and there a lot of trafic (they that everyday...).And it's the... Thai massage

Someone asked me about the thai massage : how was it and did I enjoyed it? The answer is of course YES, I'll try to describe it even I don't know many of the vocab for it. So  I went to a massage center with friends (there are many of them in malls) and we got either a foot massage or a body massage. I choosed the body massage and I was asked to go to a room at the back..Don't imagine anything just because it's Thailand. It was a room with mastresses on the floor. We were three to get a body massage for 1hour and each of us paid... [Lire la suite]

bed supperclub bangkok

A video of the bed supperclub at Bangkok. It was a very nice club: 2 rooms, 1 one with house music and another one with Rnb music. The decoration was great: everything is white and the whole club is inside a kind of spacecraft. I really enjoyed it even it was expensive (700 baths=14euros). Don't forget to bring either an ID card or a passport and to come with proper clothes (no flip flops or sandals, no shorts).

Siam Paragon

Siam Paragon is a huge mall is Bangkok. I was saying last week-end that Times Square in Kuala Lumpur was one the biggest mall in southeast asia and today I don't know which one is the bigger. Whatever it was amazing to spend a couple of hours in this mall. Having Thai food (I had a curry beef) for the first time. Actually I did first and second time for Thai food in the same place because the waiter did a mistake a gave us extra plates for free. We went to another mall (I don't remember the name) after the Siam Paragon and we... [Lire la suite]

Frazer Palace

Frazer palace is probably the best hotel I have ever been too. Leong got us some flats for Saturday night, actually I didn't pay anything and I really want to thank him for that. Frazer Palace is offering service appartment, it means that the rooms we got had living-rooms, balcony, kitchen. It was a really amawing flat and we really enjoyed all the facilities in the hotel: swimming-pool on the 33rd floor, inside and outside jacuzzi, sauna, free breakfast, free drinks and cakes in the flat. It was really unbelievable to chill... [Lire la suite]

Tuk tuk drivers

Thailand tuk tuk are a kind of taxi in Bangkok. It's a three-wheels motorbike with seats at the back. James Bond in Die another day made them really famous. It was really awesome to drive in Bangkok at night with one of them, doing wheelings after every single stops. We were really like kids discovering Bangkok and I really had fun the fisrt time. I'm saying the first time because the following day we took a tuk tuk that bring us to the wrong place and we discovered that's quite usual with tuk tuk drivers. They are always trying to... Bangkok airport

Suvarnabhumi airport is Bangkok new airport and it really looks new: it's a huge wide airport with a lot of duty free shops, quite nice (you will see some Thai statues) and quite convenient (passing through the immigration counter is really fast). Once outside you will find a lot of people asking you if you want a taxi. There are always trying to screw you by offering some flat prices (they give you a price for a place which is 3 times more expensive than if you ask them to run the meter). So ask for the meter until you find a... [Lire la suite]

back from the Bangkok trip

It's 7pm and I'm really feeling tired. I came back from the Bangkok trip this morning around 11am at NUS. I went straight to NUS after the airport because I had lab at 2pm...So I had lunch, did some homework, went to lab for 3 hours and a half, did an assignment (I had completely forgotten to do) and finally I'm here saying I'm exhausting. Why? Not because of today but because of the week-end I just spent in Bangkok. It was really awesome, arriving on Friday night at the airport. Go for beers and find a club in tuk tuk, sleep four...
