Day 7: Holy Spring in Sebatu and Arma Museum

Third day in Ubud and still not bored: I think the breakfast that 3 Dewi's guesthouse is serving might play a role in it: the fresh fruit salad + toasts + tea/coffee is really a good way to start a new day and to think about things to do.

We wanted to tour around Lake Bratan (west of Mt Batur area) but we realized that it was too far in motorbike (we did it later in car and it took us 1 hour and half to reach it...). So we found a plan "B" which was going to Sebatu (15km north of Ubud) to visit a Holy Spring and ending the day in Arma Museum. We didn't regret it.

First going to the Holly Spring was an opportunity to visit another really nice place and most of all an opportunity to come back to Ubud though the rice paddy fields once again. The previous day we took our time and went in the middle of it to observe farmers preparing their fields and planting rice. And as usual my dad could't prevent himself to approach local people. I'll repeat myself once again but it's really amazing how friendly are the Balinese people, they let you come, touch their kids and are happy to talk to you even if it's for a few words in English. However this time we didn't have the chance to do it since it started to rain like hell. We bought some raincoats, tried to make our way back to Ubud and one of the motorbike brokedown, sigh...We wasted 30min waiting for a guy to fix it and finally arrived in Ubud.

We ended the afternoon visiting the Arma Museum: if you have to choose among all the arts museums in Bali, go for that one. It's nice, big, and some of the paintings in exposition are amazing. We spent another hour looking for paintings in Ubud and finally had lunch in nice restaurant where we ate Ubud's speciality: duck.

Finally we watched a traditional music show at Arma museum: people playing gamelan (which is an instrument only able to produce a single note) and other traditional instruments. It was nice but rather boring compare to the Kecak show (once again if you have to choose one, you know what to do...).
