Snorkeling in Tioman

According to the Lonely Planet which is quoting someone I don't remember: "people don't come to Tioman for what's out of water but for what is under water" .People are mainly coming to take diving lessons and to do dives. They are many spots, you can even dive and see some wreckages. Me and Hishaam don't have any diving licence and didn't come to get one because there is actually another interesting thing to do in Tioman: snorkeling.

We paid 60MYR for a trip to coral island (in front of Salang, in the North of Tioman). Mask and fins where included and a boat was taking us to several spots on Coral Island. There are three spots included then it's up to the driver. Going to Coral Island was fun especially because the boat was powered by a Yamaha V6 200hp.... Once there you have 30min to look around per spot. The first one was great, crystal water, many species of corals, anemones everywhere with Clown fishes hidden inside it (Nemoooo^^), hundreds of fishes surrounding you when you are swimming... And don't be scared of feeling cold the water is around 28°deg.

The second spot wasn't that good: only one specy of coral, a few sea-urchins, and poisonous star-fishes but outside the beach was as white as a sheet of paper. This is due to the decomposition of Coral and actually the beach is not made of sand but of Corals...

The first and last spot was better (even though the 1st was far better) but quite deep and crowded. Morten saw a sea turtle we didn't saw... But honestly it really worthed 60MYR, we've doing snorkeling for 1 hour and half, the corals were amazing and quite intacts and I saw far mores fishes than in any places I went to (Martinique, Reunion).
