Dat's Friends
On Saturday we meet up with Dat's friends in Hanoi. Dat is my flatmate in Singapore, he's Vietnamese and by hazard he's from Hanoi. They brought us to a bar by motorbike. After being slaloming between all these motorbikes all day on Wednesday I was finally on one of them. It was great feeling slaloming, stopping at a red light and being surrounded by dozens of motorbikes and finally arriving at a very nice place in the south of Hanoi. We had a very nice dinner, I enjoyed the Vietnamese beer and discovered some new Vietnamese expressions such as: "Cam be, Dat ngon!!!" (Dat you'll to correct me once again) which means bottom's up.
Then we went to a Karoke, and sung some Vietnamese songs and Chinese song sall night. I tried my best but Thomas is far far far (far) better than me. Whatever, it was really a great night, they were really welcoming and I really appreciated it (I think I'll never say it enought).
The following day, they made us visit the Temple of Literature which is the first university of Vietnam and Ho Chi Minh's mausoleum (we were lucky to see Ho Chi Minh's body because it's only open to public on Wednesdays and Sundays mornings). We had that "famous dinner": dog feet, crabs, frog leg and Rice alcohol...Our week of vacations was already ending, we had time to sing some last songs at the karaoke and to play pool before taking the bus back to Hanoi's airport and the plane back to Singapore...
This week was great (thanks to Dat and his friends) and I'll recommend North-Vietnam to everybody.
