Batu Caves
Batu caves are an Indian Holy place but also a very touristy place. It's really famous for its huge golden statue, its stairs and its caves.
To get there you can either choose to get a teksi (25RM) or a public bus like the number 11 (2RM). Batu caves are 13km away from Kuala Lumpur so it'll take you about half an hour in bus.
Once there the first thing you'll see is the statue: a 40m high statue is quite easy to see. When you get closer to it you discover the stairs: 272 stairs going straight to huge caves. It's a really interesting place to visit because of the mixing between indian people doing their rituals and tourists looking either at them, at the temples, at the monkeys or at the size of the caves.
It's also quite funny to feed the monkeys with bananas and to do the educational trip in the dark caves (35RM). Inside the dark caves you will wear an helmet, listen to a licensed guide explaining you what is a staglimite and a staglitite, telling you the differences between the differents kind of bats you can hear.
Batu caves are definitely a place to go if you want to visit Kuala Lumpur.
